Make an invoice from hours

Go to: Invoicing → New invoice → From hours. Or Invoice these in Timesheets (the week you're looking at), or Invoice on a client in Projects & sites → Clients.

  1. Who is it for? Search or type a new name.
  2. Days: this week, last week, the last 2 weeks, this month, last month, or Pick days.
  3. Hours: their approved hours not yet invoiced, each ticked. Untick any you don't want to bill.
  4. Group hours by: one line per entry, day, week, site, project, kind of work or person. Each line gets its price from your prices, and every line can be changed.
  5. More lines: type anything else below the hours (see the next section), a discount, or Deposit paid (it comes off the total).
  6. Details: your invoice fields (like PO number), notes, terms and the due date. Style shows your invoice in each style.
  7. Include: List each entry under its line (date, time, hours and who), Add an hours summary page, and Add photos of the work (off unless you turn it on; all photos or only some labels, as pages of the PDF).
  8. Save draft, then Preview.

Drafts have no number and a DRAFT mark, and aren't sent anywhere. Hours on an invoice aren't offered again (voiding it frees them); billing them twice needs you to say so.

Example: on Friday Sam opens Timesheets → Invoice these, picks Coastal Homes, groups by site and ticks Add photos of the work → After. The invoice has one line per job site, priced from his special price, and a page of After photos.

← Why a line has no price Invoice anything: items, lines and templates →
