Ask for leave
Who: everyone, if the workplace allows staff to ask. Go to: My shifts → Leave → Ask for leave.
- Pick the type: Annual, Sick, Personal, Unpaid or Other.
- Choose the dates. For a single day you can turn on Part of the day and set the times.
- Add a note if you like, and tap Send.
It's reviewed like your timesheets: by your assigned approver or any Admin (for Admins, a Super Admin; for Super Admins, the Owner or another Super Admin). The Owner's own leave is approved straight away. You're told when it's decided. Sick leave can be asked for up to 30 days after the fact. You can Withdraw a request, or Cancel leave that's approved but hasn't started (your managers are told).
Managers: leave requests appear at the top of Approvals → Pending. If the person is rostered during the leave, approving asks whether to Make open those shifts (so others can take them) or Keep on roster to sort out yourself. Leave shows on the roster as On leave (or Leave? while waiting), and nobody gets shift reminders or no-show reports while on approved leave. To record leave for someone (say they phoned in sick), use Record leave from the calendar-cross icon on the Roster screen (phone: ⋮); it's approved straight away, and they're told.
Example: Maya asks for Annual leave 3–7 March, note Cousin's wedding. Tom approves it in Approvals and chooses Make open for her two rostered shifts, so Leo can pick them up.
