Hand over the workspace

Who: the Owner. Go to: Settings → Data and privacy → Ownership → Hand over to another Super Admin…

Use it when you sell the business, or someone else should pay for and own it.

  1. Make the new owner a Super Admin first (People), if they aren't one.
  2. Choose them, type the workspace's name to confirm, and send. They're notified and emailed, and have 7 days to accept or decline. You can cancel until they accept.
  3. When they accept:
    • if they already pay for Vaultime, or the workspace is on its free trial, it moves to them straight away (a trial keeps its end date);
    • otherwise it moves when their subscription starts (they subscribe on the web). Until then nothing changes and you keep paying.
  4. After it moves, they're the Owner and pay for it; you stay a Super Admin and can leave from Profile. Your bill drops by those people. If it was your only workspace, your subscription ends with credit for the unused part of the month. Past invoices stay with you.

Its people, rosters, timesheets and settings don't change. A workspace that's locked (trial ended, payment failed, cancelled) can be handed over too; it unlocks when the new Owner subscribes.

If the Owner can't be reached (left the business, lost their account), email support@vaultime.io. After checking who's asking, Support can start the handover; the new owner still accepts it.

Example: Sam sells Sam's Tiling to Ana. He makes Ana a Super Admin, then hands the workspace over. Ana accepts on her laptop and subscribes; the workspace moves to her that minute, and Sam's subscription ends with a credit.
