Make an export
Go to: Payroll → Exports → New export.
- Start from your payroll's file (easiest): upload a sample or template your payroll gives you (CSV, TXT or Excel). Vaultime reads its headers, separator, date style, a first line like MYOB's
{}, and encoding, and suggests what each column is: Employee ID → your Employee ID field, Date → the date, Time and a half → your Overtime 1.5 kind, Hours 3 Code → code-and-hours pairs. A column with no field yet offers Create a field right there. Check every suggestion. - Build it myself: starts with the usual columns.
- Load a Vaultime export file: one someone saved for you (an accountant who set it up for all their clients).
The export page has five cards, with a preview of the last pay period's file underneath that updates as you change anything (next section). Save keeps it for every pay day.
Example: Sam's payroll is Employment Hero. He downloads its timesheet import sample and starts from it: Employee External ID → Employee ID, Location External ID → the site's Location ID field, Work Type → each kind's code. He types EH's work type codes beside his kinds and saves.
