Moving between jobs in one day

Who: everyone, when the workplace has job sites. Go to: the Clock card while clocked in (on your phone). The button depends on your day:

Your day The button
Rostered for another job later today Going to next job
Your workplace has two or more job sites Move to next job
Only one job site Supplies run (a run to the supplier or the yard)
No job sites None
  1. Tap Move to next job, then Going to another job (or Supplies or errand for a run to the supplier or the yard).
  2. The card shows Travelling with the time so far.
  3. At the next job, tap Arrived (or Back to work after an errand). Your location is read, like clocking in, and work at that job starts.
  4. Clock out as usual at the end of the day.

Your timesheet then has one line per job, plus a line for each drive, charged to the job you drove to, and for each supplies run. Tapped by mistake? Tap Arrived back at the same job and nothing changes: no travel line and no split. Clocking out while you're still travelling asks Did you arrive at a job? first, so your time goes to the right job. The lines are submitted and approved together, as one day. Breaks count against the job you took them at. Travel from home to your first job isn't recorded.

Forgot to tap Move? If you clock out inside another site than the one your day was at, the app asks Did you move here? Say roughly when, and your manager gets a note to fix the day with Split at…. Nothing tracks you in between.

For managers: an entry's evidence in Approvals shows each part of the day. Set travel pays a trip a set number of minutes (with a reason), and Split at… fixes a day where someone forgot to tap Move: pick when they moved and where to. Both work until the day is approved.

Example: Jake finishes at 14 Smith St at 11:00, taps Move to next job → Going to another job, drives, and taps Arrived at 22 Ocean Rd at 11:35. His timesheet shows 7:00–11:00 Work, 14 Smith St, 11:00–11:35 Travel, charged to Ocean Rd Bathroom, and 11:35–3:30 Work, 22 Ocean Rd.

One entry of several? When a day is split across jobs, an entry in Approvals or Timesheets shows its own times (This part) and a Part of one shift box with the whole shift, the total that counts, and every part of the day.

Why is my day split into several entries? Each job is its own entry, and so is each drive and each supplies run, so reports can show hours per job and travel separately. Coming back to the same job after a supplies run gives work · supplies run · work. Tapping Arrived at the same job straight after Move undoes it (the entry is marked Move cancelled). Paid as rostered: when your workplace pays rostered hours, the shift's rostered hours are shared across its parts, so one part can show share of the rostered hours; the Part of one shift box shows the total.
