Set up a shared tablet (kiosk)
Who: Admins and Super Admins. Go to: Settings → Sites → the site → Kiosks → Add a kiosk.
- Choose when the kiosk should be on: During these hours (days and times; Mon–Fri 7 am – 6 pm to start with), Always on, or Don't alert me. You're only told it has stopped responding inside those hours, so a tablet switched off overnight doesn't set off alerts.
- Tap Next. You get a pairing code that works once, for 10 minutes.
- On the tablet, open Vaultime (signed out) and tap Kiosk setup on the Welcome screen. Enter the code and a name like Front counter, then Pair this device.
- Tap Lock to this app so nobody can leave Vaultime: on Android it pins the app; on an iPad it walks you through Guided Access. The kiosk keeps its screen on by itself.
Each kiosk in the list shows its state: Online, Last seen … ago, Not responding since … (Admins are notified), Off hours, or Probably no longer in use after a week, with a Remove it button. Its ⋮ menu has Alert hours, Create exit code, Switch off / Switch back on and Remove.
Taking a tablet out of kiosk mode: on the kiosk, press and hold the Vaultime logo → Exit kiosk mode, and enter an exit code from ⋮ → Create exit code (works once, for 10 minutes). Or simply Remove it from the list; the tablet goes back to the Welcome screen within seconds.
Example: Priya buys a cheap Android tablet for the café counter. In Settings → Sites → Harbour Café → Add a kiosk, she picks During these hours, 6 am – 4 pm, every day, and taps Next. On the tablet she taps Kiosk setup, types the code and Front counter, taps Pair this device, then Lock to this app. Staff now tap their names there.
