Your break at clock-out
If your rostered shift has an unpaid break and you didn't record one (or recorded under 5 minutes), clocking out asks about it. The question depends on how your workplace pays clocked time (see How clocked time is paid in Workspace settings):
| Your workplace pays | What you see | Your choices |
|---|---|---|
| Clocked time | Did you take your 30 min break? | Yes, I took it records the break. No, I worked through pays it, and your manager sees that |
| Clocked time, less the rostered break | Your 30 min break will be taken off | OK, or I worked through it, which pays it for your manager to confirm |
| Rostered hours | Nothing | Your roster is paid, so your break doesn't change your pay |
Nothing is asked if you went home before half the rostered shift was done (the break wasn't due), or if you recorded a break of 5 minutes or more. A break a few minutes short, like 28 of 30, still counts as taken. Cancel (or Back at a kiosk) leaves you clocked in. The same question appears at the kiosk, with big buttons.
Forgot to tap Start break and the question didn't appear? Ask for a correction with the right break (see Fix a clocked-in time).
Example: Leo was rostered 7:00–3:00 with a 30 min break but was too busy to tap Start break. At clock-out he's asked Did you take your 30 min break? He did, so he taps Yes, I took it, and 30 minutes come off.
